Dr. Patrick Matschoss is a research scientist on the Transdisciplinary Panel on Energy Change (TPEC) at the IASS. As a trained economist he has worked on a wide range of topics in energy economics and climate change policy within national, European and international contexts, focusing on market-based instruments like capacity mechanisms, emissions trading schemes, energy taxation and energy efficiency regulation. He has also worked on capacity-building for CDM projects. In recent years Patrick has focused on the German transition and electricity market design in the context of high shares of renewable energy as well as capacity mechanisms, the financing of renewable energies, and long-term trends in the development of the electricity sector. Patrick has also managed complex processes to support science-based policy-making.
